A thought before my talk at Scrum Gathering Las Vegas next Tuesday (May 7th, 2013)…

Margaret Heffernan: Dare to disagree

On the way over from London today to the Scrum Gathering at the Las Vegas Westin Conference Centre I saw this video on the Delta Airlines flight.

TED videos are great – this one explains why disagreeing can, and should be at the heart of every process of improvement.  Margaret suggests that when you present, you should make 5 statements that you are prepared to defend…

On Tuesday I will be making some assertions about the limitations (and strengths) I see in Scrum at scale – hope for a great Q&A session with the faithful in the audience!

(and Margaret explains how the medical profession ignored the dangers of X-raying pregnant women for a decade, despite hard evidence of its dangers… Do take 12 minutes to watch…)
